Cambridge residents and visitors should prepare for significant traffic disruptions and street closures throughout Memorial Day weekend (May 23–25) due to the Boston Calling Music Festival and Boston’s Run to Remember. The Boston Calling Festival, taking place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, will prompt nightly street closures in Harvard Square from 9 p.m. to midnight. Cambridge residents who experience noise or other impacts from the event should contact the 24/7 Boston Calling Hotline at 617-420-2245 or call the City of Cambridge Non-Emergency Line at 617-349-3300. Streets affected include JFK, Mass Ave, Mt. Auburn, Brattle, Church, Palmer, and South Street. Increased MBTA Red Line service will be available from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transit. On Sunday, May 25, Boston’s Run to Remember will bring additional closures, especially along Memorial Drive from Cambridgeside Place to JFK Street, starting early in the morning. These roads will reopen by 2 p.m. that day. Drivers should expect delays, follow posted detours, and plan alternate routes throughout the weekend.
