On May 11, 2025 at approximately 3:58am, officers were dispatched to Cub Food at 9655 Colorado Lane for a theft. The suspect left in a vehicle and went southbound on Zane Avenue North. An officer located the vehicle on Zane Avenue North, south of Brooklyn Boulevard and attempted to pull over the vehicle. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue the vehicle but saw that the vehicle crashed as it turned eastbound on 69th Avenue North.

The driver fled the vehicle and a perimeter was set up to locate the suspect. Hennepin County Sheriff as well as Brooklyn Center Police assisted on the perimeter. The drone was utilized to locate the suspect. The suspect was not located. Items stolen from Cub Foods were recovered and returned to the store. No injuries were reported. This incident is still under investigation.
