ShotSpotter Alert Leads to Arrest of Male with Handgun

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a juvenile male
with a handgun following an alert for gunfire.
On April 19, 2025, at 9:53 PM, patrol officers responded to
the 1100 block of Baltic Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Evidence of gunfire was located, but no
injuries reported. Officers
Christopher Campbell and Brandon Solano were patrolling the area looking for a
possible suspect when they located a 17-year-old male. As the officers exited their vehicle, the
juvenile fled but was quickly apprehended.
He was found in possession of a loaded handgun.
ARRESTED: A
17-year-old male from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon, possession of weapon for an unlawful purpose, and
obstruction of justice.
The male was remanded to Harborfields Detention Facility. These charges are merely an accusation and
not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty.
