On April 20, 2025, at about 10:00 p.m., officers with the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the 400-Block of Kiwanis Dr. (AC Brase Arena) for a report of a weapon violation.

Officers arrived on the scene, made contact with the victim, and began treating him for multiple puncture wounds consistent with being stabbed. Medical personnel arrived on scene and the victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

Witnesses advised during a private event, two individuals began verbally arguing when the suspect retrieved a pocket knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving and is still outstanding.

Officers are continuing to follow leads on this incident and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department with information.
