Press Release: Update on Human Remains Found in Delhi Township

On March 5, 2025, Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco from the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, alongside members of the Delhi Township Police Department, held a press conference to provide further details regarding the discovery of human remains in the wooded area of Hillside Avenue (6800 block).

We can confirm that only one set of human remains was found. A forensic anthropologist has determined that the remains belong to a middle-aged Black male, approximately 6'00" in height. Foul play is not suspected.

On Saturday, March 1st, at approximately 4:00 PM, our officers were contacted regarding human remains discovered in a secluded wooded area in the 6800 block of Hillside Avenue. Upon responding to the scene, officers confirmed the presence of the remains. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office was notified, and their team quickly responded to assist with the investigation. It was subsequently confirmed that the remains were human.

The search concluded late Saturday evening, but our team, with the immediate support of representatives from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Cincinnati Search & Recovery and EquuSearch Midwest, returned to the site on Sunday to continue the investigation. We sincerely appreciate the quick response and valuable assistance from the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Cincinnati Search & Recovery, and EquuSearch Midwest on both days.

At this time, all remains have been transported to the Hamilton County Coroner's lab for further examination. While no foul play is currently suspected, the investigation is ongoing, and we are awaiting the coroner's findings for additional details.
