Information Leads to Arrest of Man with Handgun

For Immediate Release:  February 12, 2025

 

The Atlantic City Police Department acting on two sources of information arrested a man in possession of a handgun.

On February 7, 2025, at 5:47 PM, Officers Michael Regalbuto and Glen Robinson were provided information by Detective Christopher Dodson in reference to a male named Vladimir who was in possession of a handgun near Sovereign and Atlantic Avenues.  In addition, this information was provided to tip411 by a concerned citizen, the department’s anonymous text service.

Acting on the information, the officers located Vladimir Baires-Hernandez at Sovereign and Arctic Avenues.  Baires-Hernandez was placed in custody after being found in possession of a loaded handgun. 

 

ARRESTED:  Vladimir Baires-Hernandez, 21, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of a large capacity magazine.

Baires-Hernandez was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt.  In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
