Shooting Investigation

On January
9, 2025, at approximately 2:19 a.m., Kokomo Police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of South Elizabeth Street. Officers arrived and located one 17-year-old victim in the
alley with a gunshot wound. Officers on scene provided medical
assistance until medics could arrive. The victim was transported to a local hospital
and was transported by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. The victim is listed in critical condition.
While at
the hospital with the first victim, a second 17-year-old victim was brought
into the hospital with a gunshot wound. He was also transferred to an
Indianapolis hospital for treatment. He is in stable condition and expected to
be released.
The investigation has led to 19-year-old, Morgan Killebrew of
Kokomo, as being the person responsible for the shooting. It is believed the two
juveniles had come to Killebrew's residence to confront him over a previous altercation. Killebrew
confronted the two juveniles while they were in an alley and fired several
rounds at them. Several vehicles in the area were also struck by gunfire.
Killebrew was arrested and charged with (2) counts of Aggravated Battery as Level 3 Felonies and (2) counts of Criminal Recklessness, Level 6 felonies.
