On January 2, 2025, at approximately 3:30 AM, the Brooklyn Park Police Department received a report from a citizen regarding gunshots heard in the 8300 block of Zane Avenue N. Upon arrival at the specified location, officers found no evidence of gunshots. However, after expanding the search to several surrounding blocks, officers discovered evidence of gunfire at the intersection of 84th Avenue N and Scott Avenue N. They found numerous spent shell casings and observed damage to a few vehicles and houses, likely caused by the gunfire. No victims or injuries were reported. The initial investigation and subsequent canvassing of the area suggested a significant delay between the occurrence of the shots and the notification to the police. No suspects have been identified at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
