MPD Switching to this Alert and Tipping System
WELCOME to the new system! Here is the announcement for your reference:
December 31, 2024
ALERT Notification Change
For
several years, the Marietta Police Department has utilized a push-alert
notification system to send text messages and emails to keep our community
updated about road closures as well as critical incidents. On January 1,
2025, we will be upgrading from the existing system (Nixle) to this new Marietta
PD app.
Developed
by tip411, the Marietta PD app puts
a powerful new crime-fighting tool into the hands of our residents and business
owners. Our community members will now be able to find
information, receive alerts, and send anonymous tips to us from any
smartphone. The tips can include photos as well as video files. The Marietta PD app and tip411 anonymous text a tip system are 100% anonymous,
as the technology removes all identifying information before police see the
tips and there is no way to identify the sender. Officers viewing
the tip can reply back to create an anonymous two-way conversation.
Individuals without a smartphone can still share
information with MPD by sending an anonymous text tip via cell phone by texting
keyword MARIETTAPD and their message/tip to 847411 (tip411).
The City of Marietta was recently awarded first place in
the prestigious 2024 Digital Cities Survey by the Center for Digital Government
(CDG) for its innovative technology standards and services. To receive this
honor, the City competed against other municipalities across the nation in the
“Up to 75,000 Population” category. The implementation of this new Marietta
PD app is just one more way our city is working to embrace new technology
to better serve our community.
Thank you for choosing to partner with MPD!
