On December 30, 2024, shortly before midnight, Brooklyn Park Police Officers along with the Brooklyn Park Fire Department, responded to a partial motor vehicle rollover crash on West Broadway just north of 69th Avenue North. Witnesses told officers that the vehicle had been driving at a high rate of speed and had been seen swerving into oncoming lanes. The vehicle lost control in the curve and went off the road and split an electrical pole in half.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. The driver did not report any injuries but was checked out by medical personnel. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no injuries were reported. West Broadway was closed for several hours until Xcel Energy could repair the pole.
