On 12/05/24, at approximately 10:51pm, officers with the Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex in the 8100 block of Zane Ave N.  Officers located several spent shell casings in a courtyard area, as well as an apartment with multiple bullet holes in it.  Officers were unable to get a response from inside the apartment, and they checked inside the apartment to ensure there was no one needing medical attention.  There was no one located inside the apartment, but officers were able to find that there was someone who had been injured in the shooting.  Officers spoke with that person and found they had an injury to a finger, but it was unknown if the injury was from a bullet or flying glass.  The person refused all medical attention.  The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office CSI processed the scene.  The case remains under investigation by the BPPD and HCSO.
