For Immediate Release:
November 28, 2024
The Atlantic City Police Department investigated a shooting
incident resulting in the arrest of three, including the victim, and the
recovery of two firearms.
On November 5, 2024, at 12:22 AM, patrol officers responded
to the area of Kentucky and Arctic Avenues for a ShotSpotter alert. Arriving officers located evidence of gunfire
and a blood trail. Ultimately, officers
located Brian Wilson in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Wilson was immediately removed from the
vehicle and provided medical aid by the officers, including the applying of two
separate tourniquets. After removing
Wilson from the vehicle, officers discovered a handgun on the seat where he was
sitting. Wilson was transported to the AtlantiCare
Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be treated for a
non-life-threatening injury.
An investigation conducted by detectives of the Violent
Crimes Unit determined that Wilson exchanged gunfire with another man who fled
the scene with an accomplice. Detectives
tracked the movements of the suspects leading to the recovery of a handgun that
had been reported stolen and additional evidence.
On November 27, detectives issued wanted warrants for the
arrest of Kahree Nesbitt and Jabez Witherspoon for their roles in the
