During the course of a police investigation Brooklyn Park Detectives identified as suspect in this incident. On 10/25/24 at 5:30pm the suspect was located and taken into custody and is being held at the Hennepin County Jail.

On October 24, 2024, around 7:27 PM, Brooklyn Park Police responded to a burglary in progress at a home on the 1700 block of 73rd Ave N. Upon returning home, residents discovered an armed suspect inside, who fled the scene after pointing a handgun at them.
Local law enforcement, including Brooklyn Center Police and Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, established a perimeter and conducted a K-9 search but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9" to 5'10" with a skinny build and beard-style facial hair, wearing an all-black hoodie and black pants.
Earlier on October 24, 2024, Brooklyn Park Police received reports of a suspicious male in the vicinity of the 7500 block of Newton Ave N and Meadowwood Dr. The suspect, described as a black male with a skinny build, was seen looking into residential windows and trying door handles. He was wearing a black hoodie with white lettering, a black coat with red sleeves, and light-colored pants.
Brooklyn Center Police also reported similar sightings of this individual on their side of the city.
In light of these incidents, Brooklyn Park Police are urging residents in the area to ensure that all windows and doors are securely locked. If anyone notices suspicious activity, they are encouraged to call 911 immediately.
