Stabbing Suspect Arrested

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a stabbing
suspect shortly after the attack occurred.
On October 6, 2024, at 8:30 PM, patrol officers responded to
the 2500 block of Atlantic Avenue in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived to locate a victim, 44, of
Atlantic City, suffering from a stab wound.
Members of the department’s Surveillance Center were able to obtain a
suspect description and provided it to officers. Shortly after, Officer Jose Zamorano located
Jerry Martinez several blocks from the crime scene. Martinez was identified as the attacker and
arrested.
Martinez and the victim engaged in a verbal altercation
before the stabbing occurred.
ARRESTED: Jerry
Martinez, 19, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Aggravated
assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an
unlawful purpose.
Martinez was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice
Facility. These charges are merely an
accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged
defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
