E-Bicyclist Killed in Crash with Vehicle
For Immediate Release:
October 3, 2024
The Atlantic City Police Department is investigating a crash
that involved a vehicle and the operator of an electric bicycle that resulted
in a fatality.
On October 2, 2024, at 12:59 PM, patrol officers responded to
the 100 block of north Maryland for a report of a crash involving a bicyclist,
a 57-year-old man, of Atlantic City. Arriving officers found the
bicyclist suffering from serious injuries.
He was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene despite lifesaving efforts
from the Atlantic City Fire Department and medical personnel.
The driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old woman, of Mount
Laurel, NJ, remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. There are no charges at this time.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is assisting in this
investigation.
