4 Firearms & Drugs Recovered, Mother and Son Arrested

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a mother and son and recovered four firearms and a large amount of marijuana laced food items.

On July 3, 2024, detectives of the Special Investigations Section concluded a month-long investigation into the distribution of narcotics from a residence in the 500 block of north Indiana Avenue in Atlantic City.

The target of the investigation, Jasmehir Belle, was detained after he exited the residence.  A court authorized search warrant was then executed.  During the search of the residence, detectives located four handguns.  One handgun was considered a ghost gun and a second had been stolen in Egg Harbor Township, NJ in 2023. 

Additionally, detectives recovered large quantities of marijuana, suspected THC oils, and paraphernalia used in the manufacturing of edible marijuana foods that were packaged for street sale.  There were more than 180 assorted edibles. 

In addition to Belle, detectives arrested Tamiya Belle, the mother of Jasmehir.

The investigation was led by Detective Troy Grams.

 

ARRESTED:  Jasmehir Belle, 25, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense (three counts), possession of a ghost gun, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of an extended magazine, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and receiving stolen property.

 

ARRESTED:  Tamiya Belle, 46, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, operating a CDS production facility, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt.  In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
