Narcotic Investigation Ends with 3 Arrested

The Atlantic City Police Department completed an investigation resulting
in the arrest of three and the recovery of a handgun and drugs.
On March 21, 2024, detectives of the Special Investigations Section
concluded a one-month investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics
with a court authorized search warrant in the first block of south Kentucky
Avenue.
The target of the investigation, Semaj Poteat, had an outstanding warrant
for his arrest and was taken into custody as he left the apartment
building. Once inside the residence,
detectives located two additional occupants, Laquanda Bailey and Tyjur
Blocker. During a search of the
residence, detectives recovered a loaded handgun, 14 grams of cocaine, more
than 15 grams of heroin, 29 individual bags of heroin more than $1,400 in cash,
and paraphernalia used in the packaging and distribution of narcotics.
The investigation was led by Detective Troy Grams.
ARRESTED: Semaj Poteat, 23, of
Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS (two
counts), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts), possession
of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts),
possession of CDS paraphernalia, money laundering, unlawful possession of a
weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of
hollow-point ammunition, and possession of a large capacity magazine.
ARRESTED: Laquanda Barley, 26, of
Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS,
possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to
distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, possession of CDS paraphernalia,
money laundering unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while
committing a CDS offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and possession
of a large capacity magazine.
ARRESTED: Tyjur Blocker, 23, of
Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS,
possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to
distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, possession of CDS paraphernalia,
money laundering unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing
a CDS offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and possession of a large
capacity magazine.
All three individuals were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice
Facility. The public is reminded that
charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until
proven guilty.
