Wanted Man Arrested with Stolen Handgun and Drugs

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a wanted man in possession of a stolen handgun and pills.
On March 8, 2024, at 11:52 AM, Officer La’Tray Butcher observed Hakim Clark walking in the beach block of North Carolina Avenue. Clark had two active warrants for his arrest, including one from North Carolina with extradition back to that state. Officer Butcher stopped Clark who became combative and provided false information regarding his identity. Officer Butcher along with Sergeant Gary Holmes and Officer Lorenzo Bethea attempted to arrest Clark who resisted, but was ultimately placed in custody. Sergeant Holmes located a loaded handgun in Clark’s jacket pocket and 10 ecstasy pills. The handgun had been reported stolen in North Carolina.
ARRESTED: Hakim Clark, 33, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, possession of CDS, refusal to be fingerprinted, and fugitive from justice.
Clark was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
