MEDIA RELEASE

November 6, 2023

On October 21, 2023, at approximately 9:07 PM, District One officers responded to the 1600 block of Walnut Street for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they were unable to locate a shooting victim. A short time later, a victim suffering from a gunshot wound, arrived at Christ Hospital by private conveyance. Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful, and the victim was pronounced deceased. The victim is a male 28 years of age.

                                                         UPDATE

On November 6, 2023, The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit, with assistance from the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit, arrested Mr. Devonte Banks, a male 23 years of age, on an open Murder warrant for the shooting death of the 28-year-old male in the 1600 block of Walnut Street.

The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
