At approximately 9:00 am, the Valparaiso Police responded to Planet Fitness, located at 1270 Strongbow Centre Dr., in reference to a male who had sustained a knife wound.  The incident is believed to be isolated to the subjects involved and there is no ongoing threat to the public.  The VPD investigation has identified Jordan Andrade, 24, of Porter Township as the suspect.  Andrade has been taken into custody on charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.  Andrade is incarcerated at the Porter County Jail on these charges.  

All individuals associated with this incident are presumed innocent until proven guilty.  The investigation remains active and additional information may be released when it is available.
