ALLEN POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING A FATAL CRASH
Allen, TX
(September 20, 2022): Tragically, one person has died as the result of a
crash that occurred on US-75 (Central Expressway) at the Stacy Road overpass.
At 2:57 p.m. on
Tuesday September 20, officers were called to a major crash in the 2000 block
of northbound US-75 (Central Expressway). When they arrived, officers
found a tractor trailer on the east service road engulfed in flames.
Sadly, the driver of the tractor trailer did not survive.
It appears the
tractor trailer was northbound on US-75 (Central Expressway) and collided with
another vehicle. After the collision, the tractor trailer drove over the
right side of the overpass, crashed on the service road below, and burst into
flames. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
The name of the
victim will not be released, until proper notifications can be made. We
thank the officers working diligently to process the scene to ensure these
notifications can be made in a timely manner. Our thoughts and deepest
condolences are with the victim's family and friends as they deal with their
loss.
The Allen Police
Department is asking the community for patience and cooperation while we
investigate this scene. We anticipate eastbound and westbound traffic on
Stacy Road to be affected for undetermined amount of time, so we ask that
people avoid the area and attempt to use alternate routes to reach their
destination. Anyone who witnessed this crash or has any information
regarding it is asked to contact the Allen Police Department Traffic Unit at
214.509.4288.
