Pelham Police Hiring Police Officers
The Pelham Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies for a full-time
police officer position. Minimum qualifications for this position include: a minimum of 60
credit hours in an associate or baccalaureate educational program, or full-time experience as a
certified police officer at the time of appointment, or four years of Active Duty military experience
with an honorable discharge; possess valid driver’s license; be a U.S. citizen; be in good physical
condition and possess the ability and desire to deal with the public. Candidates will be required to
complete a rigorous hiring process, including a written exam; physical agility testing; oral board;
psychological exam; polygraph exam, and medical/physical exam; as well as an extensive
background check. Beards and tattoos are permitted according to policy and with approval from the Chief of Police. Inappropriate or discriminatory tattoos are prohibited.
