For Immediate Release: July 21, 2022

On July 19, 2022, officers from the Atlantic City Police Department, with the assistance from a concerned citizen, arrested a man for attempting to lure a minor child. The concerned citizen posed as an underage child on a social media site and was contacted by Gerald Colapinto. Colapinto then attempted to lure the citizen posing as a child and engage him in sexual conduct. The concerned citizen confronted Colapinto and notified the Atlantic City Police Department. 

At 9:36 PM, officers made contact with the concerned citizen and Colapinto. The citizen provided officers with screen shots and detailed information of communication between Colapinto and an individual purporting to be a 15-year-old boy.

Following an investigation by the responding officers and detectives of the Criminal Investigations Section, Colapinto was arrested and criminally charged.

ARRESTED:  Gerald Colapinto, 65, of Yardley, PA.

CHARGES:  Luring/enticing a child by various means.

Colapinto was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  Charges are mere allegations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
