MEDIA RELEASE

July 12, 2022

On July 3, 2022, at approximately 10:00 PM, District Three officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 2800 block of Harrison Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Cincinnati Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and determined the victim to be deceased. The victim has been identified as Jamar Higgs, a male, 35 years of age.

                              UPDATE

On July 11, 2022, Mr. Malaki Tiller, male 17 years of age, turned himself in at the Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center on a murder warrant for the death of Mr. Higgs.

The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (513) 352-3542.
