VPD Searching for Missing Female
The Valparaiso Police Department is currently searching for Michelle Waisanen, a 51 year old female with dementia, down syndrome, and is non-verbal. Michelle walked from her home in the 1000 block of Madison St. between 6:15 a.m. and 7 a.m. today, to attend an event at the Valparaiso High School, and never arrived. Michelle is 4'11", 87 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a tie dyed shirt, blues jeans and carrying a back pack with the initials "MKW" on the exterior. Please contact the Valparaiso Police Department at 219-462-2135 or Porter County 911 if you have seen Michelle this morning, as any assistance in locating her is greatly appreciated.
