For Immediate Release:  April 20, 2022

On April 15, 2022, a man was located and arrested after luring three children into his vehicle.

At 1:16 PM, patrol officers responded to the area of Connecticut and Arctic Avenues for a report of a man luring three teenagers into his car.  The man, Yusuflaki Johnson, offered to drive the three teens to a youth program.  Once in the vehicle, Johnson drove around the area eventually stopping.  He attempted to get one of the juveniles to follow him to a secluded area.  The three juveniles alertly walked away taking photographs of Johnson and his vehicle.  An investigation conducted by Detective Brian McKinney led to the identification of Johnson as the suspect.

At 6:37 PM, Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos located Johnson driving his vehicle in the first block of north Maine Avenue and conducted a motor vehicle stop.  Johnson was arrested without incident.

ARRESTED:  Yusuflaki Johnson, 51, of East Orange, NJ.

CHARGES:  Luring a minor into a motor vehicle.

Johnson was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
