Third suspect in shooting incident arrested
The
third person involved in a shooting incident at a local apartment complex has been
arrested and charged with multiple counts.
Patrol
officers with the Panama City Police Department stopped a vehicle that Jeremy
“Nook” Smith was in Monday morning near Highway 98 and Molitor Avenue. He has
been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two additional
counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
During
the course of their investigation, detectives with the department believe that
Smith, Jailen Carson and Flemming Carson were involved in a dispute at an
apartment complex on Balboa Avenue Sunday evening. All three individuals
produced handguns, exchanging gunfire in the apartment complex.
Carson
and Carson were apprehended Sunday night after a felony traffic stop. Smith had
fled the scene, but was captured Monday morning. All three were booked into the
Bay County Jail and the investigation is ongoing.
