Trio Arrested after String of Burlgaries

Three men from Mobile, AL went on a weekend-long crime spree in Panama City and other jurisdictions before being arrested.

Officers with the Panama City Police Department began responding to a rash of car burglaries over the weekend. Through their investigation, detectives with the department located at least a dozen burglaries in the city limits of Panama City alone. In addition, there were multiple burglaries in other areas of Bay County over the same time period.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Rodricous Antonio Martin, B/M, 20, Shaughneysy Mingnon Brown, B/M, 19 and Carnell Andre Beard Jr., B/M, 19, all from Mobile had stolen a vehicle in Mobile and headed to the Panama City area.

Once here, detectives learned that the trio was going into neighborhoods and apartment complexes and pulling on door handles to find unlocked cars. Every single burglary that occurred in the city limits was from an unlocked vehicle.

Martin was charged with one count of armed burglary, one count of grand theft of a firearm, 11 counts of burglary of a conveyance and one count of grand theft auto. Brown was charged with one count of armed burglary, one count of grand theft of a firearm, 11 counts of burglary of a conveyance and one count of grand theft auto. Beard was charged with one count of armed burglary, one count of grand theft of a firearm and 11 counts of burglary of a conveyance.

Martin and Brown were apprehended in Washington County by the Florida Highway Patrol following a pursuit and were booked into the Washington County Jail. Beard was arrested in Bay County and booked into the Bay County Jail.

The Panama City Police Department would like to thank the Lynn Haven Police Department, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol for their assistance in this case.
