Three charged in credit card scheme

Returning to the scene of the crime for the second day in a row – and fourth time overall – leads to the arrest of three individuals on various credit card charges.

Detectives with the Panama City Police Department were called to a local big box store on Wednesday in reference to individuals using counterfeit credit cards to make more than $5,000 in purchases over three separate occasions.

While detectives with the department were getting supporting documentation and video footage from the store, the suspects showed up again, driving a rental box truck. Patrol officers and detectives with the department detained three suspects for questioning.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives discovered a loaded Taurus 9mm firearm and multiple counterfeit credit cards. Through their investigation, detectives learned that the suspects had purchased counterfeit credit cards and/or individuals’ credit card information from an unknown individual, and used that information to make the purchases. The Panama City Police Department arrested:

·         Marion Jones, B/M, 23 from Columbus, Ga, charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification, trafficking in counterfeit credit cards and an ongoing scheme to defraud.

·         Keshon Corbin, B/M, 27, from Reynolds, GA, charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification and an ongoing scheme to defraud.

·         Jermaine Ousley, B/M, 30, charged with carrying a concealed firearm.

PCPD would like to thank the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for their assistance in this case. All three were booked into the Bay County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
