Case Alert: 22-06318
Thursday January 27,
2022- On Wednesday evening at approximately 8:15 p.m. officers were
dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street to
investigate a report of a man opening a window of the residence and making contact with two small children.
The mother of the two children told officers that approximately 30 minutes earlier her children ran out of a first floor room where they
were playing and told her that a man opened the window and made verbal and physical
contact with them and tried to get one of the children to climb out of the window.
Officers did observe the window to be open and footprints in the snow. Officers followed the tracks in a northbound
direction, but eventually lost the trail. Officers canvassed the neighborhood
and located a residence with video cameras that had footage of a person on the
property at the time of this incident.
The children reported that the man was wearing a red coat.
We are asking residents/businesses who have exterior security
cameras to check those cameras for any suspicious persons in the area at
approximately 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Residents are encouraged to report any
suspicious persons to police.
