Woman Arrested for Porch Thefts
For Immediate Release:
January 1, 2022
On December 29, 2021, an investigation into the thefts of packages
from the front porches of several houses led to the arrest of a woman.
At 12:36 PM, Detective Fariyd Holmes saw Louise Brown
walking in the 1800 block of Caspian Place. Brown matched the description of a
suspect from a theft investigation flyer Detective Holmes had recently
distributed to officers. At the time of the stop, Brown was in possession of an
unopened package that did not belong to her. Brown was also found to have
several active warrants for her arrest and was placed in custody without
incident.
The investigation
led by Detective Holmes identified Brown as the suspect in two other unrelated package
thefts from front porches.
ARRESTED: Louise Brown, a 53 year old female from Atlantic
City.
CHARGES: 3 counts of theft by unlawful taking.
Brown was released on a summons pending a future court
date. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent
until proven guilty.
