Man Wanted for Stealing Emergency Vehicle Arrested

On September 21, 2021, a man wanted for stealing an emergency
vehicle was arrested after an alert police sergeant spotted him.
Sergeant Craig Mulhern arrested Patrick Ford at Arkansas
Avenue on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Ford was wanted for his involvement in the theft of an emergency vehicle
the previous night.
On September 20 at 9:38 PM, an officer was stopped by a
concerned citizen in reference to an New Jersey EMS Task Force vehicle with the
emergency lights and siren activated that was parked in the beach block of Iowa
Avenue. The citizen reported that he saw
the vehicle being driven on the boardwalk before the driver parked it and
walked away.
An investigation revealed that the driver was Ford. He entered the vehicle while it was parked on
a parking lot at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino.
While driving the vehicle, Ford struck several parked vehicles and
objects causing extensive damage. He
entered the Boardwalk at Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard by breaking a gate,
drove on the boardwalk, and then exited at Iowa Avenue.
Detectives investigating the theft obtained a surveillance
photograph of Ford, whose identity at the time was unknown, and it was
disseminated to police department personnel.
Sergeant Mulhern identified and arrested Ford based off of the
flyer. Additional charges are pending
further investigation.
ARRESTED: Patrick Ford,
31, of Clementon, NJ.
CHARGES: Theft and two
counts of criminal mischief.
Ford was remanded to the Atlantic
County Justice Facility. Charges are
mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
