Two Guns Recovered in Separate Incidents

The Atlantic City Police Department announces the arrest of
four men and the recovery of two handguns in separate incidents.
On August 20, 2021 at 5:57 pm, Officers William Akins III and
Justice Martin responded to the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue for a report of a
hit and run motor vehicle crash. The
driver who left the scene, Hassan Muhammad, returned a short time later. Surveillance Center personnel reviewed video
coverage from the crash and observed Muhammad discard a handgun into bushed
near the scene. Officers recovered the
weapon and arrested Muhammad.
On August 21 at 1:18 am, patrol officers responded to the
2600 block of Fairmount Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. Arriving officers located evidence of
gunfire. Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos
arrived to locate several men in the area.
During the investigation, three were arrested, a loaded handgun and
fifty bags of heroin were recovered.
There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire.
ARRESTED: Hassan
Muhammad, 39, of Absecon, NJ.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, and hindering
apprehension.
ARRESTED: Colin Faulkner, 26, of
Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Contempt of
court.
ARRESETED: Angel
Mariche, 21, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon.
The above three men were remanded to the Atlantic County
Justice Facility.
ARRESTED: Ramel Bey,
25 of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS.
Bey was released on a summons with a future court date.
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered
innocent until proven guilty.
