For Immediate Release:  August 9, 2021

On August 5, 2021, two men and a woman were arrested following a narcotic investigation that led to the recovery of a handgun.

Detectives of the Special Investigations Section and Atlantic City SWAT Team executed a court approved residential search warrant in the first block of south Florida Avenue.  The investigation also led to a search of a motel room in the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue.  As a result, Rashid Sims, the target of the investigation, was arrested as well as Treyvon Chisum and Kiersten Saporito.  Detectives recovered a loaded handgun, heroin, and packaging materials used to distribute narcotics.

ARRESTED:  Treyvon Chisum, 22, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Possession of CDS and contempt of court. 

ARRESTED:  Rashid Sims, 36, of Galloway Township, NJ.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and contempt of court.

ARRESTED:  Kiersten Saporito, 26, of Barnegat, NJ.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of hollow-point ammunition.

All three were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
