On June 20, 2021, a passenger was arrested during a car stop that led to the recovery of a stolen handgun and drugs

At 10:54 pm, Officers Scott Sendrick and Christopher Dodson conducted a motor vehicle stop at Tennessee and Sewell Avenues.  During the stop, the officers arrested Freddie Williams after he was found in possession of 90 bags of heroin.  A loaded handgun that had been reported stolen from Georgia was also recovered.  Williams was arrested without incident.  The driver of the vehicle, Alexis Wyatt, was released and issued several motor vehicle summons.

ARRESTED:  Freddie Williams, 42, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, receiving stolen property, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense.

Williams was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
