Pelham Police Warn the Public of Possible Deadly Fentanyl Mixture

Pelham Police Warn the Public of Possible Deadly Fentanyl Mixture

The Pelham Police Criminal Bureau completed a lengthy narcotics investigation over the past year.  During this investigation, detectives were able to seize a large amount of what was believed to be the deadly drug Fentanyl. The drugs were sold in Pelham, NH by a male from Lawrence, MA. Once seized, those drugs were then sent to the New Hampshire State Lab for analysis.

The New Hampshire State Police Forensic Lab later confirmed other agents that were mixed or “cut” into the Fentanyl. Drugs that are sold on the streets are often “cut” with other unknown ingredients. The narcotics seized by Pelham detectives were found to be a dangerous mixture of Fentanyl, Tramadol, Heroin, and Xylazine. Xylazine is used by Veterinarians for sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation, and analgesia in animals such as horses, cattle, and other non-human mammals.

The Pelham, NH Police Department has not responded to an overdose death directly related to this mixture, however we want the public to be aware of that the deadly mixture is circulating.  We remind the public to contact the Pelham Police Department with any local drug activity. The Pelham Police Department is also one of the few New Hampshire Police Departments that has an employee designated as a Drug Treatment and Prevention Officer, DTPO.  Anyone residing in Pelham that is struggling with alcohol or drug addiction is encouraged to reach out to Pelham’s DTPO Bruce Vieira at 603-635-2411 or bvieira@pelhampolice.com

This drug investigation was later transferred to the United States Attorney’s Office, District of New Hampshire, where they recently indicted the male on federal drug charges.
