For Immediate Release:  February 22, 2021

On February 17, 2021, two males were arrested and a handgun recovered after a failed internet exchange.

At 4:10 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Ohio Avenue in reference an attempted armed robbery.  Officers Christopher Dodson and Valmir Loga located a victim who was not injured.

During an investigation, the officers learned that the victim was going to purchase a video game console from a male that originated online.  The suspect and another male approached the victim and led him to the rear of a residence to retrieve the console.  The victim saw one of the males was armed and ran.  The officers spoke with the occupants of the residence and arrested Jahmir Henry and a 17-year-old male.  A loaded handgun was recovered inside the residence.   

The Atlantic City Police Department reminds the public that there is Safe Exchange Zone in the lobby of the Public Safety Building located at 2715 Atlantic Avenue.  We encourage any resident to use this area for internet purchase exchanges.

ARRESTED:  Jahmir Henry, 18, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity magazine, hindering apprehension, and conspiracy. 

Henry was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

ARRESTED:  A 17-year-old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a large capacity magazine, and conspiracy.

The male was remanded to the Harborfields Detention Facility. 

Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
