Vice Detectives Arrest Four Recover Handgun and Drugs in Separate Incidents

On January 19, 2021, Special Investigations Section
detectives arrested four men in separate incidents and recovered a stolen
handgun and drugs.
At 2:23 pm, Detectives Brian Hambrecht and Ermindo Marsini
conducted a motor vehicle stop in the beach block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard. During the stop, three occupants were
arrested after each was found in possession of drugs. Stephon Hauser was found in possession of 18
grams of marijuana and 14 grams of cocaine. Raheem Miller was found in possession of 500
bags of heroin. Tahshid Thompson was found
in possession of 200 bags of heroin and 10 grams of cocaine.
At 2:58 pm, Detectives Darrin Lorady, Alberto Valles, and Christopher
Smith attempted to stop Damonyea Mallory in the first block of south Indiana
Avenue. As the detectives approached,
Mallory immediately began to flee. As he
was running, Mallory threw a loaded handgun over a fence. Mallory was apprehended two blocks away by Officers
Zayon Pitts and Scott Crawford. The recovered
handgun had been reported stolen from South Carolina.
ARRESTED: Stephon
Hauser, 29, of Camden, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with
intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Raheem Miller, 28, of
Chesapeake, MD.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Tahshid Thompson, 31, of
Camden, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS (two counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (two counts), and possession
with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone (two counts).
Hauser, Miller, and Thompson were released on a summons with
a future court date.
ARRESTED: Damonyea
Mallory, 30, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of
hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice,
resisting arrest, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Mallory was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused
are considered innocent until proven guilty.
