For Immediate Release:  January 14, 2021

On January 12, 2021, a motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of a man in possession of a handgun and drugs.

At 9:52 pm, Officer Joseph Kelly conducted a motor vehicle stop at Virginia and Atlantic Avenues.  During the stop, Officer Kelly arrested Elliot Handy.  Handy was in possession of a backpack that contained a loaded handgun that included a large capacity magazine and a loaded drum magazine, and 83 grams of marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle, Alisia Harrigan, was released with several motor vehicle summons.

ARRESTED:  Elliot Handy, 24, of Absecon, NJ.

CHARGES:  Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a large capacity magazine, and possession of a defaced firearm.

Handy was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
