Two Arrested, Two Guns and Drugs Recovered During Crash Investigation

On December 26, 2020, officers investigating a motor vehicle
crash arrested two men who were each in possession of a handgun.
At 6:33 pm, Officer Danish Mohammad came upon a two-car motor
vehicle crash at Mississippi and Arctic Avenues. Officer Tyler Daily of the Accident
Investigations Section also responded.
During the investigation, the occupants of one vehicle,
Divier Silva and Ernesto Contreras-Jimenez, were arrested after each was found
in possession of a loaded handgun.
Silva’s handgun was equipped with a 30-round magazine. The officers also located more than nine
ounces of marijuana in the vehicle.
ARRESTED: Divier
Silva, 25, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to
distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a
school zone, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, and
possession of a large capacity magazine.
ARRESTED: Ernesto
Contreras- Jimenez, 20, of Pleasantville, NJ.
CHARGES: Unlawful
possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to
distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a
school zone, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense.
Both men were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice
Facility.
