Narcotic Investigation Leads to 6 Arrests, 2 Handguns and Drugs Recovered

On November 11, 2020, an investigation into the distribution
of narcotics resulted in the arrest of five men and one woman and the recovery
of guns and drugs.
Detectives assigned to the police department’s Special Investigations
Section and the Atlantic City Metro Task Force executed a residential search
warrant in the 1100 block of Baltic Avenue.
Five adults and one juvenile were arrested during the investigation.
Two males, Yasin Sanders and a 15-year-old juvenile, were
each found to be in possession of handguns.
Sanders’ handgun contained a 30-round magazine that was loaded with
hollow-point ammunition. The juvenile’s
handgun had a defaced serial number and he was in possession of 5.5 grams of
cocaine.
During a search of the residence, detectives located 400
grams of synthetic marijuana, an imitation firearm, and handgun
ammunition. In addition to Sanders and
the juvenile, detectives also arrested the homeowner Yashamirah Sanders, Devon
Banks, Armaad Chappell, and Mykoel Justiniano.
The investigation was led by Detective Eric Evans.
ARRESTED: A
15-year-old male, of Bridgeton, NJ.
CHARGES: Two counts each
of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession with
intent to distribute CDS, single counts of unlawful possession of a weapon,
possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of a defaced
firearm, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school
zone, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public
zone.
The male was remanded to the Harborfields Detention Facility.
ARRESTED: Devon Banks,
21, of Mays Landing, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and contempt of court.
ARRESTED: Armaad
Chappell, 18, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Mykoel
Justiniano, 46, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone.
ARRESTED: Yasin
Sanders, 18, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession
of an imitation firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine, unlawful
possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a weapon while committing
a CDS offense, and contempt of court.
Banks, Chappell, Justiniano, and Sanders were remanded to the
Atlantic County Justice Facility.
ARRESTED: Yashamirah
Sanders, 34, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute
CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession of an imitation firearm.
Sanders was released on a summons with a future court date.
