North Carolina Homicide Suspect Arrested
For Immediate Release:
September 30, 2020
On September 29, 2020, personnel from the Atlantic City
Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) arrested a man
wanted for homicide.
Investigators received information that John Mitchell, who was
wanted by law enforcement for an August homicide in Greensboro, NC, was hiding
out in a residence on Massachusetts Avenue. Mitchell’s charges included shooting the
victim multiple times and running her over with a car.
Detectives of the Special Investigations Section and agents
from the FBI conducted surveillance on the residence. After a period of time, Mitchell emerged and
was taken into custody without incident with assistance from the department’s
SWAT Team.
ARRESTED: John
Mitchell, 38, of Greensboro, NC.
CHARGES: Fugitive from
justice.
Mitchell was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice
Facility.
