For Immediate Release:  September 18, 2020

On September 17, 2020, a man was located and arrested after attempting to lure a child into his vehicle.

At 8:25 pm, patrol officers responded to the 100 north block of Delaware Avenue for a report of an attempted child luring.  Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos arrived to speak with the mother of a 12-year-old girl.  The mother reported that she and her daughter were walking their dog when the girl walked towards a corner store alone.  The mother saw a vehicle approach her daughter and stop.  Her daughter stopped walking and was listening to the driver.  The mother yelled to the driver who immediately drove off.  The child reported that Reale told her she was cute and asked her if she wanted a ride.   

Officer Nunez-Santos was provided with a description of the driver and his vehicle.  More than an hour later, Officer Nunez-Santos saw the vehicle at South Carolina and Pacific Avenues and conducted a motor vehicle stop.  The driver, Gaetano Reale, was confirmed to be the man that spoke with the child and was arrested without incident.

ARRESTED:  Gaetano Reale, 59, of Galloway, NJ.

CHARGES:  Luring a minor into a motor vehicle and several motor vehicle summons.

Reale was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
