ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - CRIME ALERTS (16)

Residential Burglary / Criminal Trespass / Theft / Criminal Damage to Property / Burglary to Motor Vehicle

#1: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully entered the victim’s vacant apartment while the victim was away and residing in a nursing home. Taken from the apartment were several pieces of furniture and electronics, jewelry, and silverware. The total value of the stolen items is pending further investigation.

DATE/TIME:  08/29 3:30pm – 5:00pm

#2: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully entered the victim’s residence after the victim was distracted by an accomplice in an apparent ruse burglary. While the victim was in the rear of the property with one offender posing as a lawn maintenance specialist, another offender(s) entered through the front door of the residence and ransacked the master bedroom. The accomplice is described as Male, Hispanic in his 40s with short hair and wearing dark clothing and speaking with an accent. The offender(s) were last seen leaving the area in a newer model black Chevrolet Equinox with Illinois dealer license plates. Taken from the bedroom were several items of jewelry. The total value of the stolen items is pending further investigation.

#3: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully and forcefully entered a vacant apartment unit which was unoccupied and empty of belongings. The door was damaged by an apparent pry tool. It does not appear anything was taken from the unit.

#4: Four unknown male, White offenders unlawfully entered an interior building on Race Track property. All four offenders were wearing hooded sweatshirts. It does not appear any damage was caused to the building nor did it appear anything had been taken by the offenders. The offenders were last seen leaving the property on bicycles.

#5: One unknown male, White offender concealed merchandise for sale on his person before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. The offender is further described as approximately 30-40 years old and wearing a surgical face mask, white shoes, blue jeans and a black t-shirt. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is approximately $330.00 USC.

#6: One unknown male, White offender concealed merchandise for sale on his person before leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. The offender is further described as approximately 6ft tall, 225-250 pounds, approximately 30-40 years old, balding with brown hair and wearing a dark colored face mask and a Green Bay Packers t-shirt. The total retail value of the stolen merchandise is approximately $150.00 USC.

#7: Several unknown offender(s) tipped over a Port-O-Potty adjacent to the baseball fields on Park District property. There was no permanent damaged caused to the Port-O-Potty.

#8: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully damaged the roof of the victim’s residence with an unknown object. The cost to repair the damage is unknown.

#9: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully took a lawn sign from the front yard of the victim’s residence. The approximate value of the sign is $10.00 USC.

#11: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully took copper wire left unattended on the property in preparation for maintenance on the property’s light poles. The approximate value of the copper wire is $5,000.00 USC.

#12: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully took the victim’s wallet from a tabletop in the employee break room after the wallet was left unattended by the victim. Contained in the wallet was approximately $20.00 USC and various credit and identification cards.

DATE/TIME:  09/16 5:20pm – 5:30pm

#13: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully damaged the victim’s vehicle while it was parked in the hotel parking lot. The rear driver’s side windows of the vehicle had been smashed with an unknown object. The cost to repair the damage is approximately $500.00 USC.   

LOCATION:   75 W Algonquin Rd – Double Tree Hotel
DATE/TIME:  09/16 6:00am – 7:45pm

#14: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully entered the victim’s UNLOCKED vehicle while the vehicle was parked overnight in the driveway of the victim’s residence. The owner’s belongings were strewn about the vehicle. Taken from the vehicle was the victim’s garage door opener. It does not appear entry was made into the garage.

DATE/TIME:  09/13 7:00pm 09/14 8:00am

#15: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully entered the victim’s UNLOCKED vehicle while the vehicle was parked overnight in the driveway of the victim’s residence. The owner’s belongings were strewn about the vehicle. It does not appear anything was taken from the vehicle.

#16: Unknown offender(s) unlawfully entered the victim’s UNLOCKED vehicle while the vehicle was parked overnight in the driveway of the victim’s residence. The owner’s belongings were strewn about the vehicle. It does not appear anything was taken from the vehicle.
