AC Fire Department Rescues Woman Pinned from Underneath Vehicle, One Arrested for DWI

On June 21, 2020, a woman suffered serious injuries after
being struck and pinned underneath a vehicle.
At 10:52 pm, patrol officers and the Atlantic City Fire
Department responded to the 800 block of New Hampshire Avenue for a report of a
woman pinned underneath a vehicle. First
responders arrived to find a large crowd and the victim pinned underneath a
Honda Accord.
Firefighters from Ladder 1 and Engine 7 under the command of
Battalion Chief Elwood Faunce safely freed the victim within several minutes. She was transported to the AtlantiCare
Regional Medical Center, City Division, with serious injuries.
During the investigation, officers learned that the driver of
the Honda, Ashley Barksdale, struck a parked car and then ran over the
victim. Barksdale was arrested for
driving while intoxicated.
ARRESTED: Ashley
Barksdale, a 34-year-old woman from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Driving while
intoxicated.
Barksdale was released on a summons with a future court
date.
