COVID – 19
To the residents of Pelham, NH,
As a precaution, our agency is going to implement a few
changes in the way we respond and handle our daily calls for service. Effective
immediately, when feasible we are limiting face to face interactions with the
public. As the COVID-19 continues to spread in this area, our goal is to
protect the health and wellbeing of the public and your first responders.
We are asking the public to call the police station, (603)
635-2411, for any non-emergencies rather than walking in to file a report.
Officers have been instructed to take reports that are less serious in nature over
the phone. We will utilize our email system for written statements and
photographs of minor property damage.
Any serious or in progress crimes will be investigated in
person immediately. All emergency calls will be responded to immediately. When
appropriate, officers will keep approximately 6 feet away from people if they
have to investigate a crime in person.
These precautions are being put in place in order to continue
sufficient staffing until the pandemic is minimized. Please know that we are
open and function to full capacity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need
us, CALL US.
Our quality of service will continue at the highest professional
level, however, the manner in which we do day to day business, is changing temporarily.
Again this is for the safety of the public and first responders.
Please be advised that we will not be providing fingerprint
services at the station, car seat installations, and we will not be responding
to assist with VIN verifications until further notice.
As this situation continues to evolve, we will make appropriate
changes as needed. Please stay connected with our social media and sign up for citizen
observer tips at www.pelhampolice.com. We will update the public as the
situation evolves.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Chief Joseph A. Roark
