Man Arrested with 2,500 Bags of Heroin

On February 14, 2020, a motor vehicle stop resulted in the
recovery of 2,500 bags of heroin and the arrest of a Mays Landing man.
At 1:00 pm, Detective Ermindo Marsini of the Special
Investigations Section conducted a motor vehicle stop in reference to a
narcotic investigation in the 1100 block of Drexel Avenue. During the stop, a narcotic detection canine
showed a positive indication of drugs in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the Atlantic City
Police Department tow lot pending the application for a search warrant. The driver, Braheem Norwood, who was not
under arrest, left the scene.
After obtaining a search warrant, Detective Marsini conducted
a search of the vehicle resulting in the recovery of 2,500 individual bags of
heroin. A wanted warrant was issued for
the arrest of Norwood. On February 20,
Norwood surrendered himself at the Hamilton Township Police Department.
ARRESTED: Braheem
Norwood, a 24-year-old man from Mays Landing, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of
a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute
CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school
zone.
Norwood was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
