Two Men Arrested, Drugs Recovered During Car Stop

On January 28, 2020, a motor vehicle stop led to the arrest
of two Atlantic City men and the recovery of drugs and paraphernalia.
At 1:51 am, Officers Ivaylo Ivanov and Wahab Malik conducted
a motor vehicle stop at Ohio and Morningside Avenues. Officer Ivanov began to speak with the driver
who identified himself as Warren Hayes.
Hayes was unable to provide the officer with any type of identification
including a valid driver’s license.
Hayes was asked to exit the vehicle to speak further. When Hayes exited, Officer Ivanov observed marijuana
on the floorboard. Hayes and his
passenger, James Sanders Jr., were arrested after the officers recovered the
marijuana from vehicle and located 67 grams of cocaine and assorted drug
paraphernalia.
At the Public Safety Building, Hayes was found in possession
of a bag of marijuana and his real name found to be Michael Hayes.
ARRESTED: Michael
Hayes, a 47-year-old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of
a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS with intent to
distribute, possession of CDS paraphernalia, hindering apprehension, and a
motor vehicle summons.
ARRESTED: James
Sanders Jr., a 29-year-old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of a controlled dangerous substance
(CDS), possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS
paraphernalia.
Both men were released on a summons with a future court date.
