Suspect Who Shot Himself While Committing Robbery Arrested

On January 9, 2020, a man wanted for his involvement in an
armed robbery where he shot himself was arrested attempting to burglarize a
vehicle.
At 8:46 am, Officer Robert Toscano responded to the Bally’s
Atlantic City Hotel & Casino parking garage in reference to security
officers detaining Thomas Bryant after he was attempting to burglarize a
vehicle. Bryant was arrested after he
was found to have active warrants for his arrest.
Bryant was wanted for his involvement in an armed robbery
that occurred on October 20, 2019. At
3:00 am, patrol officers responded to an alleyway in the rear of the 1300 block
of Pacific Avenue. Bryant robbed a man
of his money at gunpoint. During the
robbery, Bryant’s gun discharged and struck him in the hand. Bryant fled the scene before the arrival of
officers. Later in the day, Bryant checked
himself into the Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ for his injury. Hospital personnel notified the local police
department and Bryant admitted to the responding officer that he was shot in
Atlantic City. An investigation by
detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit led to criminal charges being filed for
the robbery.
ARRESTED: Thomas Bryant, a 25-year-old
man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Aggravated
assault, robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for
an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.
Bryant was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
