Vineland Police Department - Shooting Investigation
On January 2nd,
2020 at approximately 8:20 pm, officers from the Vineland Police Department
were dispatched to Inspira Medical Center for a report of a gunshot victim who
had been transported there by private vehicle. After a brief investigation it
was determined that this incident occurred in the Center City area of Vineland,
inside of the vehicle that the victim was transported to the hospital in.
As a result of this the incident, an 18-year-old female from Lower Alloways Creek sustained a single
gunshot wound to the upper arm that traveled through and lodged in her chest.
She was eventually transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden where she is
listed in critical but stable condition.
Members of the
Vineland Police Department Detective Bureau along with Detectives from the
Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office were able to speak with several witnesses
in this incident as well as the victim.
This investigation is on-going and being conducted in conjunction with the
Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. Additional information regarding
this case will be released at a later time pending the investigation.
